Our hardworking staff at Roggen Farmers Elevator goes above and beyond to earn your loyalty, and we work even harder to keep it. While everybody on “Team Roggen” plays a specific role, our team members often jump in wherever needed to help get the job done. This starts from the top down; there are days when even our CEO is out in the yard operating a forklift to pitch in. As a result, our team members know our customers well, and vice-versa. By partnering with Roggen Farmers Elevator, you get trust, integrity and profitability.
Roggen Farmers Elevator Association has developed strong strategic partnerships with these local grain elevators and processors to give our customers more options when it comes to delivering and marketing their grain. We continue to seek out growth opportunities and pursue them when they are the right fit for our producer farmers.
We have a 50/50 partnership in this facility with Ardent Mills, which uses locally and regionally grown hard, soft and organic wheat from fields around the state of Colorado to produce 1.8 million lbs. of flour a day. This provides our members with another location to efficiently deliver their wheat.
As a 50/50 partner with egg supplier Opal Foods, Roggen Farmers Elevator provides grain for this feed mill, which is the exclusive provider for Opal Foods’ chicken farm in Roggen. This gives us another option for marketing our customers’ grain and helps maintain a strong demand for corn in the area.
After becoming partners in this millet cleaning business in 2004, we acquired full ownership in 2016. Watkins Grain services a variety of markets and commodities, including international exports and domestic trade. Its primary focus is on international wholesale of Proso Millet.
At Roggen Farmers Elevator Association, being a good business partner is only one way that we provide value and profit for our members. Another way we do this is by giving back to our local communities. As a local co-op, we’ve always been strong proponents of staying true to the system and keeping your dollars local. That’s why we passionately support and reinvest in the communities we serve. Our customers and member-owners come together in Roggen, Bennett, Pierce and Watkins and our employees live in these towns, too. Whether it is through volunteer support or financial sponsorships, we take pride in backing community organizations and events because we want to see them succeed. These include:
If there is a charity, event or organization that we should consider supporting, please contact us to see if we’d be a good fit.
With agriculture playing such a vital role in our communities and businesses, we’ve always been dedicated to supporting the FFA chapters at our local schools, which are educating our next generation of farmers in Northeastern Colorado. We also offer seasonal help positions to these students to give them applicable work experience and keep dollars local.
The Adams, Arapahoe, Morgan and Weld county fairs are fun community gathering places in our service area and they play an important role in celebrating the region’s close connection to agriculture. We always enjoy sponsoring these fairs, and we often purchase livestock being shown by children to recognize and support their efforts.
