ABOUT ROGGEN

Roggen Farmers Elevator Association

Running Strong for 60+ Years

Privately held by producer farmers since 1955, Roggen Farmers Elevator Association has been a trusted merchandiser of grains like corn, wheat, barley, millet, canola, soybean meal and DDG for more than 60 years. In addition to our grain marketing services, farmers throughout Northeastern Colorado depend on us to fulfill their refined fuel, propane, seed, fertilizer and ag chemical needs.

As we’ve done over the past several decades, we continue to take advantage of the right growth opportunities to better serve our customers. The acquisition of Watkins Grain and recent partnerships with Ardent Mills and Opal Foods has enabled us to increase our service area and provide more offerings for cooperative members.

Team Roggen

Our hardworking staff at Roggen Farmers Elevator goes above and beyond to earn your loyalty, and we work even harder to keep it. While everybody on “Team Roggen” plays a specific role, our team members often jump in wherever needed to help get the job done. This starts from the top down; there are days when even our CEO is out in the yard operating a forklift to pitch in. As a result, our team members know our customers well, and vice-versa.

Our Mission

Roggen Farmers Elevator Association will strive to be the preferred merchandiser of agricultural products by:

  • Being an ethical business partner
  • Being the employer of choice
  • Continually seeking opportunities for growth
  • Providing increased value and profitability for our members

By partnering with Roggen Farmers Elevator, you get trust, integrity and profitability.

Safety

Workplace safety is an important focus at Roggen Farmers Elevator Association. We work hard to make sure each of our locations is compliant with all OSHA rules and regulations to provide a safe environment for our employees and customers alike. In addition to undergoing an extensive training process when hired, Team Roggen members go through safety training sessions leading up to harvest and at other periods throughout the course of the year.

Partnerships

Roggen Farmers Elevator Association has developed strong strategic partnerships with these local grain elevators and processors to give our customers more options when it comes to delivering and marketing their grain. We continue to seek out growth opportunities and pursue them when they are the right fit for our producer farmers.

Commerce City Grain:

We have a 50/50 partnership in this facility with Ardent Mills, which uses locally and regionally grown hard, soft and organic wheat from fields around the state of Colorado to produce 1.8 million lbs. of flour a day. This provides our members with another location to efficiently deliver their wheat.

O&R Feed Cooperative:

As a 50/50 partner with egg supplier Opal Foods, Roggen Farmers Elevator provides grain for this feed mill, which is the exclusive provider for Opal Foods’ chicken farm in Roggen. This gives us another option for marketing our customers’ grain and helps maintain a strong demand for corn in the area.

Watkins Grain:

After becoming partners in this millet cleaning business in 2004, we acquired full ownership in 2016. Watkins Grain services a variety of markets and commodities, including international exports and domestic trade. Its primary focus is on international wholesale of Proso Millet.

Local Matters

At Roggen Farmers Elevator Association, being a good business partner is only one way that we provide value and profit for our members. Another way we do this is by giving back to our local communities. As a local co-op, we’ve always been strong proponents of staying true to the system and keeping your dollars local. That’s why we passionately support and reinvest in the communities we serve.

Our customers and member-owners come together in Roggen, Bennett, Pierce and Watkins and our employees live in these towns, too. Whether it is through volunteer support or financial sponsorships, we take pride in backing community organizations and events because we want to see them succeed. These include:

If there is a charity, event or organization that we should consider supporting, please contact us to see if we’d be a good fit.

Youth Agriculture Education

With agriculture playing such a vital role in our communities and businesses, we’ve always been dedicated to supporting the FFA chapters at our local schools, which are educating our next generation of farmers in Northeastern Colorado. We also offer seasonal help positions to these students to give them applicable work experience and keep dollars local.

County Fairs

The Adams, Arapahoe, Morgan and Weld county fairs are fun community gathering places in our service area and they play an important role in celebrating the region’s close connection to agriculture. We always enjoy sponsoring these fairs, and we often purchase livestock being shown by children to recognize and support their efforts.

Supporting our future farmers and agribusiness professionals!

Roggen Farmers Elevator is proud to support local FFA members that toured our facilities this summer. We also support our 4-H members in local county fairs through the meat animal sale.  We are so proud of our local FFA and 4-H members.
